Michel Lauzon is the founder, President and Creative Executive Officer of LAAB, a design innovation collective founded in 2017.
A creative mind at the crossroads of design and real estate, Michel Lauzon has 25 years of award-wining international design experience and high-level business acumen. Michel was President and CEO of AEdifica (2017-2020) and as well as Chief Creative Officer & Senior Partner at Lemay (2009-2017). At the age of 29, he co-founded renowned emerging
Canadian design practice NOMADE in 1999 and led the firm as President from 2001 to 2009.
An accomplished architect and urban designer, Michel is proficient in design-driven problem-solving for complex projects in a variety of typologies and markets: mixed-use, hospitality, commercial & offices, retail, multi-unit residential, high-rises, cultural, entertainment & sports, transport, tourist destinations & themeparks, new city design and emerging niches such as creativity hubs and co-working.
This skill-set has lead him to design and deliver landmark projects in variety of cultural contexts across the globe: Canada, USA, the Caribbean, North Africa (Algeria & Morocco), Middle- and Far-East (UAE, Pakistan, India, China). He has created singular designs and memorable spaces for leading companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Ubisoft, Adidas, Bombardier and Lumenpulse.
Michel has a proven track record of design success featuring over 50 awards, landmark buildings and 12 winning competition proposals. Michel is a reputed thought leader and sought-after key note speaker on the topics of creativity, design thinking, innovation by design and Brandscaping. His work and design approach have been featured in acclaimed media such as the New York Times, Architectural Record, Canadian Architect, Domus, Azure, Frame, Dwell and Wallpaper.

Daniel is a leader in the real estate industry, and possesses over 30 years of experience in acquisition, integration of real estate assets and real estate corporations, as well as asset management and financial structuring. Daniel was a Senior Vice President of Canada Lands Corporation and President of Oxford Quebec, where he was involved in the acquisition of real estate assets valued at well over one billion and directly responsible for managing the real estate portfolio.
Marketing & Communication
Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from HEC Montreal and a cumulated twenty-year career in marketing for companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Red Bull and Pharmascience, Eric has been known recently for his role as the CEO of Akufen, a digital marketing agency based in Montreal.. Leading a group of 40 employees, he has worked on more than one hundred brand marketing mandates.
Legal and Financing
Pierre is specialized in real estate law, he has solid experience in financing, sales and acquisitions, including in municipal law issues relating to zoning and urban planning. He acts for real estate developers and owners as well as institutional real estate investors, both Canadian and foreign, in all matters involving their real estate portfolios. Pierre has acquired extensive know-how in negotiating with financial institutions, whether regarding leasing, sales or real estate financing agreements and various partnership agreements.
Real Estate Development
Sebastien Weiner co-founded Prohibition Development and serves as it’s Creative Lead and Managing Partner. Prior to starting Prohibition, Sebastien was Vice-President, Development and Business Unit Leader for Smart Centres REIT and was responsible for the East Portfolio. Previous to his work at Smart Centres, Sebastien was Director of Development for Plaza Retail REIT. Sebastien also spent 9 years managing equity investment funds specializing in large-scale real estate projects. He has played pivotal roles in some of the most iconic projects that shape the Montreal skyline.
Sebastien earned a Masters of Science (Finance) from Concordia University for his work testing the use of idiosyncratic risk in timing the markets.
